Just as the Giant Corrupt Rhinos were about to crash into the city wall, Butterfly Feather gently flapped her wings and flew into the air.
Over twenty Psychic Butterflies standing on the city wall also spread their wings and danced along the air currents, applying psychic power to the Giant Corrupt Rhinos.
The footsteps of these rampaging, violent monsters suddenly faltered, a hint of confusion appearing in their frenzied eyes; as if swimming through mud, their speed was reduced by about half.
The Wizard exclaimed in shock, "This is a rare psychic-type skill!"
These butterfly-like monsters they had ignored actually possessed rare psychic skills; the Giant Corrupt Rhinos, which even their spells failed to shake, were completely unable to resist under the psychic control.
"Look, everyone! They're holding statues in their hands!"
A Human Warrior pointed at the animals nearby. Everyone looked over and saw that they were throwing out Enhanced Magic Swamp Frog Statues in bulk from atop the city walls.
A quick glance revealed that the number of Enhanced Magic Swamp Frog Statues being thrown out had already reached triple digits.
They sighed with emotion, "The Sacred Lake is truly wealthy... to just throw away so many items like that."
Armored Mud Toads were summoned. They hopped to the base of the city wall, holding hands and activating their Turtle Shields, forming another line of defense outside the wall.
Kara stared at the group of Armored Mud Toads and sneered, "Thinking you can resist these monsters born only for self-destruction with just those? How naive!"
The first Giant Corrupt Rhino quickly slammed into the Turtle Shields.
Ribbit, ribbit, ribbit!
The Armored Mud Toads stacked together, pushing their skills to the limit. The orange Turtle Shields creaked, and at that moment, the sharp horn on the Giant Corrupt Rhino's nose suddenly flashed with a dazzling green light.
Boom!
Its body was like a giant powder keg, instantly creating a massive mushroom cloud.
The Armored Mud Toads were blown every which way. Eight Armored Mud Toads in the front were killed by the blast, losing their ability to fight.
On the city wall, over a dozen Animal Warriors were also caught in the blast, suffering injuries of varying degrees and retreating to the rear for treatment by the Animal Medical Team.
Even with the protection of the Armored Mud Toads, a giant gap was blasted into the Steel City Wall.
However, right before the enemies' eyes, the gap in the wall suddenly healed itself, as if the explosion had never happened at all.
"What?"
Kara stood up, his gaze filled with disbelief.
The explosion created by every single Giant Corrupt Rhino he brought out was enough to destroy a Great Lord's territory, yet they were actually blocked by these animals. The healing of the gap in the city wall was even more beyond his imagination.
Even the Demon Extermination Squad on the city wall didn't understand what had happened until the Wizard told everyone to look behind them. Only then did they notice...
Behind the city wall, a row of lower-tier animals was working together to carry steel, desperately repairing the integrity of the Steel City Wall.
Mi Dou was directing their work.
"squeak, everyone, work harder!"
It waved its hands vigorously, weaving through the groups of animals, guiding the Green Water Lizards and Flame-tailed Foxes carrying construction materials to repair the blasted Steel City Wall.
As long as there were materials and the wall wasn't completely destroyed, the wall could quickly repair itself once the materials were applied.
Everyone took a deep breath.
"Not only are the animals of the Sacred Lake powerful, but even its buildings are so heaven-defying!"
This scene continued to play out in other locations where the Giant Corrupt Rhinos self-destructed.
As the smoke cleared, apart from ten large craters at the foot of the wall and the smashed magic swamp frog statues, the Steel City Wall remained unmoved, continuing to provide the animals with a high-ground advantage.
Less than half a minute later, the injured animals stood back on the city wall, full of energy and continuing their attacks; anyone who didn't know better would have thought they were just changing shifts.
Qi Ye watched this scene and nodded silently. He hadn't participated in the command just now, relying entirely on the animals' quick thinking; their performance had already made Qi Ye very satisfied.
Seeing that they had all grown to the point where they could calmly participate in a large-scale war made him, the Beast Leader, feel deeply gratified.
As the Army approached, a massive swarm of Frenzied Locust Monsters lunged toward the animals on the city wall.
Some of them nimbly dodged the animals' fireballs and ice spikes, while others, utilizing their extreme physical toughness among aerial combat monsters, chose to tank the skills head-on.
Five of the Frenzied Locust Monsters targeted a section of the city wall where the Demon Extermination Squad was located.
"They're coming!" Yue Hongyi warned loudly. He drew his longsword and activated all his skills, knocking one Frenzied Locust Monster back from the city wall.
Another Frenzied Locust Monster was bound by Magic Chains chanted by the Wizard.
Taking this opportunity, the Barbarian pulled out a brand-new Giant Metal Club from the Otherworld Space. His muscles bulged as he let out a great shout and slammed the club down hard onto the opponent's skull.
The latter screamed and was smashed off the city wall like a cannonball, embedding into the ground below. Just as it crawled out, it was kicked around like a ball by the Armored Mud Toads.
"The shells of these locusts are damn hard."
The Barbarian shook his palm, which was numb from the recoil.
Yue Hongyi turned to Grass Ash beside him and said, "Leave the defense of this area to us. You go support the other places."
Grass Ash looked at the animals on the other parts of the wall; the situation in three areas was not optimistic. It was clearly hesitant, wanting to go support but unable to leave.
According to the pre-battle assignment, its duty was to guard this small section of the eastern wall.
Fortunately, the Demon Extermination Squad was not part of their plan.
The Barbarian rubbed his head and pointed to the other six Adventurers beside him. All six of them nodded heavily.
"Don't worry, we've learned our lesson this time. We won't cause you too much trouble."
After witnessing the animals' battles multiple times, the Demon Extermination Squad had found their role; at the very least, they could manage to hold this section of the wall under the attack of five Frenzied Locust Monsters if they gave it their all.
"Alright, then I'll go support the other places!" Grass Ash said, somewhat moved, and thanked them, "Thanks, neigh!"
It hadn't understood before why the Lord of Spirits said to help these Human Adventurers, but now it had already received their repayment.
As expected, all the decisions of the Lord of Spirits were correct!
"Report! Another group of invisible enemies is coming from the west."
An Azure Ice Rat ran to the Command Post, panting for breath.
Fortunately, there was an anti-stealth Command Post. Before this group of enemies could even get close to the wall, they were all revealed.
These were a group of black Thousand-Foot Demon Insects with hunched bodies that moved close to the ground. They were all at the seventh tier, crawling gloomily along the ground; the smooth shells on their bodies could activate invisibility, making them unobservable.
By now, over a dozen Thousand-Foot Demon Insects were climbing up the Steel City Wall, their feet like sturdy suction cups clinging to the vertical walls as they moved nimbly.
"Quickly light the fuses and throw the Bombs!"
"Remember to count down and time it right!"
